Release Notes for PC MACLAN for Windows 2000 version 8.0 3-3-2000

Before installation of PC MACLAN please note:
If you are upgrading from a previous version of PC MACLAN, it is very important
that you read the Upgraders' Guide.
In addition to PC MACLAN, the CD contains DataViz'z MacOpener and Miramar
Systems' PC Migrator and AKA. (AKA is a Macintosh file renaming utility which
runs on the Mac.) Please take time to read the Welcome document to more
thoroughly introduce you to the contents of the CD.

PC MACLAN for Windows 2000 v8.0 installation from CDROM:
1. Login as a user who has full Administrator privileges.
2. Load the CD and press the Install PC MACLAN button.
3. After agreeing to the License Agreement, enter your serial number or leave
the field blank for a demo installation.
4. Select complete install or custom to install a partial set of services or
change the installation location.
5. After all files are copied, press the Yes button to indicate that you want
to restart you computer.
Installation from floppy disk is not supported in PC MACLAN for Windows 2000.

To uninstall PC MACLAN for Windows 2000:
1. Open the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel
2. Select PC MACLAN for Windows 2000 and click the Remove button.
3. Follow the directions indicated in any additional dialog boxes which appear.
4. To complete the removal, you must restart your computer.

User's Guide Errata
There are references to "Network Neighborhood" on numerous pages in chapter 4
and on pages 7-1, 7-2 and 8-3. In Windows 2000, "Network Neighborhood" has
been renamed "My Network Places." Please substitute the term "My Network
Places" wherever "Network Neighborhood" is refered to in the User's Guide
when using PC MACLAN for Windows 2000 v8.0

DEMO Version Issues DEMO Version Issues DEMO Version Issues

The following issues are known to occur in the DEMO mode of operation.
1. If, during installation, an error reporting an inability to read a DLL is
seen, rename the directory from which the installation is being performed to
a name with 8 or fewer characters without any spaces or other punctuation.
2. If you continue to print from your application after 180 minutes from
startup, the jobs will not print until you restart your computer. Then
they will all print with a watermark impression.
